Morissa Pepose, soprano,

is a young artist whose love for music began while growing up in St. Louis, MO. Since then, her passion for opera has led her to studies in Milan, Italy, Berlin, Germany, and most recently to the completion of a MM in Vocal Performance summa cum laude from the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College in the studio of Mark Schnaible. Fluent in Italian, Ms. Pepose completed her undergraduate music degree magna cum laude at Brandeis University with a minor in Italian Studies.

Most recently, she participated in master classes for acclaimed soprano Barbara Frittoli and acclaimed baritone Sherrill Milnes and performed as a soloist in Fauré’s Requiem at St. Ann’s Church in Brooklyn, NY with the Grace Chorale of Brooklyn.

Ms. Pepose has performed the roles of Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Geraldine in A Hand of Bridge, Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica, and others as part of the International Summer Opera Program-Tel Aviv and the Brooklyn College Opera Theatre. She has also participated in numerous prestigious programs and festivals, including POVAI, and has sung at such venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Powell Symphony Hall, and Casa Verdi: Casa di Riposo per Musicisti in Milan.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Pepose has put her skills to use by single-handedly creating and organizing a virtual concert series for young artists, titled Knock Knock, Ar-ia Home?. She is also an experienced teacher of young singers, pianists, and budding performers and continues to teach remotely.
